Prakhar Mehrotra

Currently Head of AI at PayPal. In addition, I also serve on the AI Roundtable at the National Academies of Science helping shape the AI Strategy for United States. Prior to PayPal, I was Managing Director & Head of AI at for Private Equity Group at Blackstone, and Head of AI for Walmart US. I started my career as data scientist at Twitter and then helped build AI at Uber. I am two times recipient of the prestigious Edelman Laureate Prize (2020, 2023) and led the Walmart team that won the prestigious Franz Edelman Prize. My work on building & leading AI teams has been featured in Podcast series "Me, Myself and AI" hosted by MIT which was featured in joint report on AI strategy by BCG and MIT, and I have been named in Top 100 AI Executives by several firms. I have been consulted by US Dept. of Innovation and office of Secretary of Defense on issues related to AI. I also served as Advisory member for the Google Cloud AI Council for two years. During my PhD at Caltech, I had worked with NASA-JPL on Asteroid Retrieval Mission, and with USAFOSR on high speed propulsion system.
